The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) led by its Head Commissioner Caesar Dulay, his Assistant Commissioners, Regional Directors, Regional Revenue Officers, Examiners and other staff on 22 April 2021, heed the call of the Presidential Anti-Corruption Commission to renew its commitment to the call of the President to fight corruption and Red Tape in government beginning with the signing of the Manifesto of Cooperation and Oath of Honesty, a major component of Project Kasangga: Tokhang Laban sa Korapsyon. BIR is the third agency of government to offer its full support after the Bureau of Customs (BOC) and Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) gave their full cooperation. These offices are among the four (4) PACC identified high risk agencies susceptible to the temptation of corruption.
PACC’s Project Tokhang Laban sa Korapsyon aims to engage various government agencies to be on-board in the President’s anti-corruption campaign, which will eventually link various agency command centers for easy collaboration. Chairman Greco Belgica led the online event attended by all PACC Commissioners, BIR Commissioner Cesar R. Dulay, and the Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA) led by Director General Atty. Jeremiah B. Belgica.
Part of Project Kasangga – Tokhang Laban sa Korapsyon’s will enable cooperation in the detection and resolution of cases of government officials and the reduction of graft and corruption cases within the various agencies of government. It aims to cascade a God-centered anti-corruption advocacy and moral transformation. Through this, government agencies may successfully eradicate corruption by policing their own ranks, and create a mechanism where information on corruption can easily be reported to the heads of agencies, the PACC and the President
The said online event highlighted the video message from President Rodrigo Roa Duterte emphasizing the need to fight red-tape and corruption in government.
With the remaining months of PRRD’s presidency, PACC, through its Chairman, spearheads programs, plans and actions designed to weed out the corrupt officials unworthy of public trust and public office.
